From the early web to an online scrapbook superstore

Archived pages show dMarie Direct selling scrapbook supplies online by 1998. The store described itself as an online scrapbook supplies superstore and offered both secure and standard shopping entrances—an important distinction in the early days of Internet shopping.

The store grew alongside dMarie.com, combining shopping with a large scrapbook layout gallery, articles, chat, contests, and other ways for scrapbookers to share ideas. Store gift certificates were awarded through dMarie Bowl games and contests, connecting the community site directly with the catalog.

The Paso Robles warehouse store

dMarie Direct also operated a physical warehouse store in Paso Robles, California, roughly halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Archived pages invited customers to visit the warehouse store, while the online catalog served scrapbookers much farther away.

The end of the store

By 2008, the dMarie Direct home page carried a simple closure notice. The store no longer operates, but its banners, catalog history, and connection to the early online scrapbooking community remain part of the dMarie archive.
